Time to Go - Song for JoAnne

from Timepiece by Maggie Martin in Mixed Company

/

about

meter 5 /4 & 7 /4

Mags wrote this in memory of good friend and mentor, JoAnne Hildreth. When JoAnne was ill with cancer Mags would visit and massage JoAnne's feet which JoAnne particularly enjoyed. Their shared visualization was of fish swimming through JoAnne's body eating up all the cancer cells.

lyrics

SONG FOR JOANNE

Life is in the shape of a moon
A hole in the sky
which opens and closes

We come out of thin air
and vanish into thin air

The air is very thin
by the ocean

I am angry at the tides
They never rest
I want to rub your feet
and talk of fish
